What sets Jean apart?
Jean used to be an attorney. She is the founder and president of Write Word LLC (established as Write Word, Inc. in 1994).
Jean’s book The Colored Car follows a young girl coming of age in Depression-era Detroit, and has won 3 literary awards.
In recognition of outstanding work, Jean was honored with a 2017 Kresge Artist Fellowship in Literary Arts, awarded by Kresge Arts in Detroit, a program of The Kresge Foundation.
