Hi! Deb Gonzales here. I’m a children’s author, career educator, and marketing strategist who has spent years crafting resources that connect people with literature in meaningful ways. As the founder of Guides by Deb, I’ve created over 400+ standards-aligned educator guides for some of the finest books in the business. And as the founder of Pin Lit Marketing, I now help book creators harness the power of Pinterest to expand their reach and keep their books discoverable for years to come.
My expertise in education, curriculum development, and book marketing strategy makes me uniquely qualified to help authors, illustrators, and publishers boost book visibility—whether through standards-aligned guides or Pinterest strategy. With an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from the Vermont College of Fine Arts, I understand the literary world from both the creative and business sides.
If you’re looking for high-quality, affordable, project-specific supplemental materials or a marketing strategy that keeps your books discoverable, let’s talk!
I ADMIT, I HAVE PINTEREST FEVER…
As many of you know, I’m the creator of Guides by Deb, a website consisting of over 300 standards-aligned teacher guides for some of the finest books in the business. For years and years, I searched for ways to promote the incredible books I’ve been privileged to create guides for. I tried platforms such as Facebook groups and special newsletters, all for naught. Finally! My quest has ended. Pinterest!!!!
Beginning in February, I began to make a concerted effort to understand this powerful platform. In less than a year’s time, my Pinterest monthly viewer rate has climbed 99.6%, putting my virtually unknown Guides by Deb website on the cyber map! Friends, Pinterest is where we all need to be. The video linked to the graphic above explains some of the reasons why.
My head literally spins with possibilities for our kidlit community on this platform. So much so, I want to help you develop your own piece of the Pinterest pie. I’m offering a couple of different ways that we might work together to do just that. You’ll find them listed on the tabs on the upper left.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. God only knows how much I love talking about the perks of Pinterest. Also, I invite you to grab the freebies I have linked below. They’re yours for the taking.
Post disclaimer: Studies show that Pinterest fever is highly contagious. Proceed at your own peril. :-)
