Keeping your books in the hearts of young readers and in the hands of those who care for them.

As a fellow author, career educator & Pinterest Specialist, my goal is to help authors and illustrators establish visibility in the local, digital, and academic arenas.

Let's find out how to make my services work for you.

The guides crafted in this website have been created by Debbie Gonzales, MFA. Deb is a career educator, curriculum consultant, former school administrator, and adjunct professor, and once served as an SCBWI RA for the Austin Chapter. She's the author of six “transitional” readers for a New Zealand publisher and the non-fiction picture book Girls with Guts: The Road to Breaking Barriers and Bashing Records (Charlesbridge, 2019). Deb earned her MFA in writing for children and young adults from the Vermont College of Fine Arts.

As the creator of Guides by Deb, consisting of over 300 standards-aligned teacher guides for some of the finest books in the business. For years and years, I’ve searched for ways to promote the incredible books I’ve been privileged to create guides for. I tried platforms such as Facebook groups and special newsletters, all for naught. Finally! My quest has ended. Pinterest!!!!

LET’S GROW YOUR ONLINE PRESENCE WITH PINTEREST, AND THE REACH OF YOUR BOOK WITH GUIDES BY DEB.

The mere mention of self-promotion instills a severe feeling of dread within most authors and illustrators. Limited social media aptitude, little free time to dedicate to the process, or a lack of confidence are just a few issues that create anxiety for the reluctant marketer. Fear not! Help is on the way! I coach authors and illustrators to gain clarity, focus, and the skills required to develop influence and visibility in the kidlit marketplace.

“Congratulations on [finding] your good marketing strategy for school librarians! ”
